How to Find Us

The Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology is located at 41 Berkeley in Boston's South End.  It is easily accessible by the MBTA (see below) Back Bay Staion -Orange and Arlington- Green line.  It is a 10-15 minute walk from South Station.  There is also a bus & the Silver Line is two blocks away.

By Public Transportation

MBTA Orange Line: Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station. Watch for Back Bay Station signs directing you to Dartmouth Street exit. Turn left at exit onto Dartmouth Street. Walk to Appleton Street and take a left. Walk to the corner of Appleton and Berkeley Streets. You will see BFIT on your right.

MBTA Green Line: Take Green Line to Arlington Street Station. Walk down Arlington Street toward the Park Plaza Hotel. Continue walking on Arlington Street to Tremont Street. Turn right on Tremont Street. BFIT is one block down on your right.

Commuter Rail: Exit at Back Bay Station and follow directions for MBTA Orange Line.

Bus: Take the #43 bus to corner of Tremont and Berkeley Streets.

By Automobile

From the West: Take the Mass Turnpike to Boston. Take exit 22 at Copley Square. Bear right on exit ramp to street level. Turn right at first intersection (Dartmouth Street). Go to the first light at Dartmouth Street and Columbus Street. Go through light and take second left onto Appleton Street. We are on the corner of Appleton and Berkeley.

From the South: Take Route 93 north to the Storrow Drive (West) exit. Follow Storrow Drive to the Copley exit. Take the Copley exit and turn right on Beacon Street. Take Beacon Street one block to Clarendon Street. Turn left onto Clarendon. Continue on Clarendon Street to Appleton Street. Turn left on Appleton Street. As you approach East Berkeley Street you will see the school across the intersection on your right.

From the North: Take 93 South to the Storrow Drive (West) exit. Follow Storrow Drive to the Copley exit. Take the Copley exit and turn right on Beacon Street. Take Beacon Street one block to Clarendon Street. Turn left onto Clarendon. Continue on Clarendon Street to Appleton Street. Turn left on Appleton Street. As you approach East Berkeley Street you will see the school across the intersection on your right.

Parking - Please keep in mind that BFIT does not have off-street parking. There is metered parking in the neighborhood and several parking lots within walking distance that charge on average $10 per day.

Inside the Building 

From Tremont St Entrance:

Walk through the glass doors.  Walk down the hallway until you get to a large open student area with couches, tables, etc...  The Auditorium is located down the stairway to the left. Go through the doors and take a right.  It is a large room with hardwood floors and chairs lined up on them.

Mens and women's rooms are located on the first floor.  The women's room is off of the hallway, and the men's room is down a hallway opposite the stairs.  We will have to use the rest rooms for changing until further notice.

From Berkeley St Entrance:

Walk straight ahead, take your first right down the stairwell.
